Please try to ensure that your child is on time. Each
class begins the day with a literacy or numeracy activity
and your child will be missing important teaching if
they are late. Aim to arrive at school about 5 minutes
before school begins, as you won't want to be waiting
around too long, especially on cold wet days. The hall
is open each morning for children who wish to attend
Breakfast Club. Breakfast is available from 60p.
come out in the playground to meet the children each
morning. Please wait in the playground for the bell.
If the weather is really wet, we will try to let the
children in early. Please be patient whilst we
organise this, as we have to ensure that we have sufficient
numbers of staff available to provide cover.
If you are late, please do not keep your child at home
for the day; we would rather a child came late than
not at all. When you arrive at school you will need
to see the school secretary, to ensure your child's
attendance is registered and a dinner is ordered.
If your child is absent from school please ensure that
we know why. This can be done by letter, telephone,
e-mail or by seeing our school secretary personally.
At the end of the day, please arrive on time. If you
are unable to collect your child personally we will
need to know, in advance, the name of the person who
will be taking them home. Please do not take offense
if staff check the identity of a person collecting your
child: it is necessary for us to be vigilant in the
interest of your child's safety.
IF IN AN EMERGENCY, YOU ARE LATE AT THE END
OF THE DAY, PLEASE TELEPHONE THE SCHOOL SO THAT WE CAN
REASSURE YOUR CHILD.
Our lunch break is split to allow
more time for the Reception class children to eat and
to ensure that they have time apart from the rest of
the school. We are mindful that lunchtime can be bewildering
for children and try to ensure that there is maximum
support for them.
Children may have a school dinner, bring a packed lunch
or go home for dinner. Whatever you choose for your
child we do ask you to stick to that arrangement for
a half term, after which you may change if you wish.
If you are having financial difficulties ask at the
school office for advice.
Children having packed lunches should bring their lunch
in a plastic lunch box, clearly marked with their name
and class along with a spoon, straw, or cup if needed.
Please do NOT send drinks in glass containers.
